REACH Program

The REACH Program was created in 2018 as part of a two-year grant from the George Kaiser Family Foundation that will allow programming started under the defunct Carrera Program to continue through the 2019-2020 school year.

Union discontinued the Carrera Program at the end of the 2017-2018 school year after the loss of substantial federal grants.

Given the difficult state and federal funding outlook, Union designed the REACH program with a smaller budget that will continue to support students, who were enrolled in the fomer program, from eighth through 12th grades.

Union pulled elements from the Carrera experience including mental health services, sex education, and kept many staff in similar roles. The REACH program was offered to all students, who were enrolled in the Carrera Program. Letters were sent to families explaining changes in March 2018
