The Union High School Freshman Academy offers a number of programs for students in academic and extracurricular areas.
Homework Helpers
Homework Helper is a tutoring program giving students an additional opportunity to complete required assignments at school.
SAFEteam
A group of students who meet on a monthly basis to discuss important issues among their peers such as bullying, teen pregnancy prevention, cyber safety, and responsible actions.
Principal’s Student Advisory Committee
A committee of students who have volunteered to meet with the building principal to discuss issues important to the 9th Grade Center.
Teacher of the Month
Teacher of the Month is a recognition program for teachers who have been nominated by their students.
Student of the Month
Student of the Month is a recognition program for students who have been nominated by their teachers.
The EDGE program
The EDGE program prepares incoming ninth graders for the challenges of high school classes.
Clubs/Extracurricular Activities
The Union High School Freshman Academy also provides many extracurricular activities and organizations for students. These organizations include everything from academic teams to athletics and spirit teams. See Student Organizations for a list of student clubs.
In addition to many noteworthy offerings such as the Debate Team, the Union High School Freshman Academy - along with the High School - also boasts a nationally recognized program of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
The National Honor Society and Student Council are always actively seeking various community service projects and offer an abundance of manpower and enthusiasm.
