STEM EXPO 2020 will February 11, 2020 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Union Innovation Lab, 6235 South Mingo Road.
We are excited to combine the official grand opening of the Innovation Lab with the STEM EXPO. Formerly,.the expo was paired with our YouthArts in the late spring. By moving it to our new venue and giving it special attention, we hope to provide a student, family, and community event that showcases our #STEM4ALL preK-12 vision. We have exciting activities, events, and speakers planned for the STEM EXPO to engage people of all ages! The highlight is ALWAYS the elementary students speaking about what they have learned in their problem-based experiences in their classrooms. We are very excited to have more space to feature your students and their teachers highlighting a STEM demonstration, activity, design, program, or any other project.
To make sure each school has an opportunity to participate and prepare a space meeting their needs, we need a form to be filled out by each teacher/team attending. For example, Mrs. Teel may bring 4 of her 5th grade science students who have worked on a design for the aquaponics tank in her room or 3 of the kindergarteners from Amanda Gruenberg’s class share what they learned building habitats and bring a few habitats for show and tell or Emmet Bowen’s drones will make an appearance with a few of his students. We need a proper head count of approximately how many students are coming and the teacher who will be there with them. Please reach out to your teachers and personally invite them to show off what amazing things their students are doing in STEM.
