Andersen To Offer New STEM/ROWING Club

Andersen STEM/ROWING Club is starting next week. We have a few more spots available. This is going to be sooooo cool! We have a partnership with Tulsa Youth Rowing Association and can't wait to see what our kids can do.

4&5TH GRADE ROWING CLUB WHEN: TUESDAYS

TIME: 3:15-4:15PM

What is this club about?

We are delighted to announce a thrilling partnership between Andersen Elementary and the Tulsa Youth Rowing Association, bringing their captivating curriculum to our students. This collaboration offers your child the chance to engage in a comprehensive fitness experience, with conveniently placed rowing machines here at Andersen. Beyond the evident physical advantages, students will embark on an exciting scientific journey, uncovering captivating insights into energy, progress tracking, and more. It's a dynamic fusion of fitness and scientific exploration, ensuring an enriching educational adventure for your child!

We are getting 6 rowers, making only 12 spots available in the club. Since there is a limited number of openings, we are asking for a signed permission slip from a parent AND a teacher referral. Once Ms. Tipton or Ms. Jones gets a signed permission slip from a student, Ms. Tipton or Ms. Jones will ask the student’s teacher for a referral. Parents will be notified if their student receives a spot in the club.

Important info.

• Please wear active wear and closed toed shoes each week.

• We will teach basic rowing technique to start.

• There will be a field trip to the University of Tulsa indoor rowing facility some time in December for students to row a boat in a pool.
