We are so excited to share our final episode of Ellen Ochoa Elementary’s I-Luminate Podcast, led by our 5th grade team – Producer Aria Andrus, and Hosts Jorgia Harmon and Seryna “SJ” Gonzalez.
Listen here.
This special episode is an interview with 3 graduating Union seniors from the class of 2023 – Daniel Flores, Zamar Gardner, and Leslie Alvarez. The hosts solicit advice from our seniors on managing change, mentors, overcoming obstacles, confidence, and of course, the good laughs that 30 minutes of youth conversation is promised to deliver.
I found this episode to be an incredible reminder of the wisdom we all carry and just how impactful it can be when we are given meaningful arenas to reflect on and share it, whether we are 11, 18, or anywhere later along the path.
Thank you to Gart Morris, for helping us secure the foundation for this podcast; to Daniel, Zamar, and Leslie for having the courage to share your reflections of your youth and Union journey, and finally, to Aria, Jorgia, and SJ for getting into the arena with me to elevate the voices of our community and illuminate the good, the promise, and the wisdom we all carry.
We hope you will listen to this rich, 20-minute conversation between the 5th Grade I-Luminate Podcast team and Union seniors, Daniel Flores, Zamar Gardner, and Leslie Alvarez.
