Congratulations to Chloe Shannon, who finished first in the nation in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp national championships for marksmanship. She also earned her Junior Distinguished Marksman Badge, which is the highest individual award for continued excellence in marksmanship competition over an extended period of time.

Extremely proud of this young lady would be an understatement. She practices practically every day, takes college courses, other extra-curricular activities, and manages to maintain a 4.4 GPA. Back in the fall of 2022, 6,400 JROTC cadets nationwide began competing in marksmanship. 877 of those cadets advanced to the regional competition in Feb. Only 222 advanced to compete at the National Championships over the past 2 days. At the end of competition, Cadet Chloe Shannon finished 1st in the nation for Air Force JROTC and 10th overall among all JROTCs (Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy) in Precision 3-PAR. She also earned her Junior Distinguished Marksman Badge which is the highest individual award for continued excellence in marksmanship competition over an extended period of time.
Definitely living up to one of the Air Force's Core Values: EXCELLENCE IN ALL WE DO
Great job Cadet Chloe Shannon!
