Union Superintendent Dr. Kart Hartzler joined other volunteers today for the second day of senior mock interviews in the Grand Hall at the High School today.
Part of Union's 100 Percent College and Career Ready mission, mock interviews provide seniors in English classes an opportunity to practice interviewing for a job. Volunteers meet with seniors individually and conduct the interviews, providing students notes on how they may improve.
Retired Union administrator Debra Wolin, who has interviewed many people throughout her career, said she enjoys the exercise because she has an opportunity provide feedback to seniors to help them improve their interviewing skills. "That's not something I have normally gotten to do before," she said.
After seniors finish their interviews, counselors ask seniors to complete thank-you cards to their volunteers as another important job skills that can come in handy.
Mock interviews will continue for a third day Thursday.
