High School To Name Mr. & Miss Union Friday, March 24

Union High School will name Mr. and Miss Union this Friday, March 24, in a special ceremony attended by seniors and families of the honored students at 9:35 a.m. in the Union Performing Arts Center.

The event will be streamed live here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v4fTWW11pU

Finalists are:

Mr. Union:

  • Caleb Barrow

  • Kayden Kehe
  • Emerson Leavitt
  • Grayson Tempest

Miss Union:

One of the highest honors a senior may receive comes during second semester of the 12th grade year when Mr. and Miss Union are selected. This honor is bestowed on a boy and girl who have excelled in academics, community service, and other aspects of student life.

In the selection process, all students and faculty are given the opportunity to nominate senior candidates, including self-nominations. The top-10 male and female senior nominees are placed on a ballot for a student vote, reviewed for academic performance, and evaluated by faculty for school spirit, positive leadership, character/integrity, and contribution to class. The final selection is determined by 30 percent grade point average (GPA), 30 percent teacher recommendation score and 40 percent student vote.

During the spring semester ceremony, the top five male and female nominees are honored along with their families. One male and female candidate are selected for the title of Mr. and Miss Union.

The Top 20 candidates were recognized earlier last winter. They include:

Mr. Union:

  • Caleb Barrow
  • Daniel Flores
  • Ethan Jackson
  • Quinn Johnson
  • Kayden Kehe
  • Emerson Leavitt
  • Ryan Pitchford
  • Blake Posey
  • Mark Solla
  • Grayson Tempest

  • Claire Baggett
  • Hadley Brown
  • Aleena Chaudhary
  • Taryn Cox

Congratulations to all of the students!
