8th Graders Learn About Early College High School Program Called EDGE

Union Public Schools in partnership with Tulsa Community College invite current eighth graders to apply for Early College High School.

EDGE applications will be due February 24.

Early College High School presentations started today, and will continue this week during English classes at the 8th Grade Center.

Earn a Degree Graduate Early (EDGE) is a program that provides an educational opportunity to students through a partnership between your high school and Tulsa Community College. Students attending EDGE will take a rigorous course of study and, if successful, will earn an Associate Degree from TCC and a traditional high school diploma.

Application Process

  • January 23. Applications available online. Paper copies will also be available in school counselor offices. Students will complete one essay question and obtain one recommendation from an 8th Grade Center educator.
  • January 24-27: EDGE presentations held in eighth grade English classes
  • January 31: Parent/Guardian Information Session at the 8th Grade Center at 6 p.m.
  • February 2: Parent/Guardian Information Session via Zoom at 6 p.m..
  • February 9: Q&A table during lunch at the 8th Grade Center
  • February 9: Oklahoma Promise Night at the 8th Grade Center at 6 p.m. Parents can receive assistance with completing the online Oklahoma Promise application. Completing the Oklahoma Promise application is now a part of the EDGE application process.
  • February 24: EDGE applications due.
