For the 20th anniversary of 9-11, Fifth Graders at Moore honored Welles Crowther. Welles was an investment banker at the World Trade Center and a volunteer firefighter in New York. He was in the South Tower on September 11, and heroically led approximately 12 people to safety before the tower collapsed. He became known as The Man in the Red Bandanna. Fifth Graders were given their own red bandanna as a symbol of courage in honor of Welles, then reflected and wrote letters to people that show courage in their own lives. Thank you, Mr. Grady for putting together this special memorial!
