Union Public Schools will offer a virtual summer school for incoming grades 8-12 June 6-July 28.
Union Virtual offers students the opportunity to take online summer courses using Internet- based curriculum that can be accessed anytime, anywhere. Courses are interactive and supported as students communicate with highly qualified teachers. Each student is monitored by a certified teacher with a commitment to quality and high standards.
Courses within the Virtual program are designed as a college readiness program and are for first-time credit only. Online summer courses are a good fit for students wanting to open up their schedules for more co- curricular activities, Tulsa Tech, and concurrent opportunities.
Due to the current circumstances of COVID- 19, UVLA will operate dynamically using the typical blended model based on teacher and curriculum determination. Students must attend a virtual orientation with the instructor on Monday, June 6 , from 9 to 10 a.m. or 1-2 p.m. If the student is unable to attend, alternate arrangements must be made prior to May 25 , with Assistant Principal James Cooper and the instructor.
Virtual office hours will be set by the instructor of the course. Students will be required to check- in with their instructor on a weekly basis; virtually or in person as required by the instructor (see course description). Phone, email, and regular communication will be necessary.
