Even though the City of Tulsa will likely drop its mask ordinance in May, Union Public Schools will complete the school year with the mask requirement in place. Union’s Board of Education passed a mask mandate prior to the City of Tulsa and it has not removed this requirement. In seeking the guidance of Dr. Bruce Dart and the Tulsa Health Department, they strongly advise that we continue to require masks through the end of the school year. Union currently has ZERO staff members with Covid-19, and the number of students quarantined is extremely low, which we attribute to our vigilance in following CDC guidelines. That’s how we have managed to have a successful school year with minimal disruption. As we near the finish line and the completion of the 2020-21 school year, we want to finish STRONG. So Union’s mask requirement for students and staff will remain in place through the end of the school year. Thank you!
