Application Open for 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) will be accepting applications for the Title IV, Part B - 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant (https://sde.ok.gov/21cclc). The 21st CCLC program is a federally funded program dedicated exclusively to expanded learning opportunities including before-school, after-school and summer learning. The purpose of the 21st CCLC program is to offer:

  • Academic enrichment activities that help students meet state and local achievement standards;
  • A broad array of additional services designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program; and
  • Families of students served opportunities for active and meaningful engagement in their children's education, including opportunities for literacy and related educational development.

Ellen Ochoa Elementary School is in the process of preparing an application for a 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant to expand quality after-school and summer programming. An Advisory Committee has conducted a needs assessment and has been working with community partners in preparation for the application. There will be a 21st CCLC Advisory Committee Meeting on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 at 4:00, via Zoom.  This meeting is open to the community for input into the application process, to increase community partnerships and to ensure the program meets the needs of Ellen Ochoa students and families. For more information, contact Andrea Zambrano at [email protected] or the school office at (918) 357-8416.
