McAuliffe Elementary will be taking part in a program called Red Ribbon Week from October 26- 29. Red Ribbon Week was created to raise awareness about the problems associated with the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. The national theme this year is “Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free”. This is a great opportunity to talk at home about issues like peer pressure and making the best choices for a healthy future.
There will be different themes each day of the week.
Monday, October 26th: “Be Happy” Wear your brightest colors.
Tuesday, October 27th: “Be Brave” Wear your silliest socks.
Wednesday, October 28th: “Be Happy” Share your happiness with others and do at least 2 random acts of kindness
Thursday, October 29th: “Be Brave” Dress up as your favorite book character for Books Alive.
We are looking forward to a fun week where we all pledge to live drug free!
