Union will again partner with PSO to reduce electricity usage during the high demand summer months and get paid while they participate. On hot summer days when electrical demand spikes across the city, PSO makes a request to its customers to reduce energy load. Since Union is such a big consumer of power, any percentage of energy reduction is helpful in preventing a possible rolling blackout.... more

Cathy Burden, superintendent of Union Public Schools in Tulsa, accepts the Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Elementary/Secondary Administration during the 27th annual Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Academic Awards Banquet in Oklahoma City. The prestigious award is presented to only one Oklahoma public school administrator. The Academic Awards Banquet, which features a keynote address by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Thomas Friedman, will be televised statewide at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 25, on OETA. See story inside. This is John Federline, Principal of the Union Ninth Grade Center, with an important announcement regarding the last day of school. In order to provide a safe and minimally distracting environment for our final day, backpacks and large purses will be prohibited on Friday, May 24. Girls may bring a small handbag or a clutch, but any large bags or purses will not be allowed. If students bring a large bag, it will be checked in with administrators and returned at the end of the day. Please encourage your students not to bring large purses, duffel bags, or backpacks on the last day of school. Thank you.... more

Briarglen Elementary has decided to donate profits from the fourth grade fund raiser during Field Days to the CCOSA School Tornado Relief Fund which will share the funds directly back with Moore Public Schools. The closing ceremony for Field Days is Friday afternoon, May 24.... more
Union’s Athletic Training staff was recognized at the 2013 Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet May 18 in Edmond. Senior Kylie Shentwu was awarded the OATA All-State Student Athletic Training Aide, and she was named the 2013 OATA Scholarship Recipient. Union’s Athletic Trainer, Dan Newman, was named the 2013 OATA Athletic Trainer of the Year.
