  • Evangel Christian welcomes Union

    Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, La., laid out the welcome for Union Public Schools and its football team today. Union and Evangel Christian will play tonight at 7 p.m. You can hear the game on KYAL fm97.1.

  • New grant makes a 'sweet dozen'

    Grove teacher Tiffany Bolding wins her 12th grant for Grove Elementary.

  • No school Monday, Sept. 6

    School will be closed Monday, September 6, for Labor Day. All offices will be closed as well.

  • Union/Jenks College Night Sept. 13

    Students and parents looking for resources to help plan, prepare and pay for a college education will have the opportunity to receive important materials and speak with representatives from the Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program, a division of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. OGSLP staff members will be available at the Union/Jenks College Night at Union High School on Sept. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

  • Jarman Family Night Sept. 23

    The weather got in the way of Family Fun Night at Jarman Elementary, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 2, but the rescheduled date is for Thursday, Sept., 23 from 6-8 p.m. MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW and in the meantime, we may even add some other activities to an already awesome event!

    The first of Union’s Late Start Fridays---the new class schedule this year---proved to be a “Great Start Friday” as families arrived and teachers met as planned. With a positive start like this one, there is no limit to the student and professional achievement the new schedule can facilitate.

    Teachers and staff at the Intermediate High School are wearing their college colors on Thursdays this year. They are encouraged to wear their college colors to promote communication with their students about the college they attended. We want the students to ask questions and start looking for the college that is best for them.

  • Darnaby newcomers breakfast

    PTA put out a terrific breakfast for all the newcomers to Darnaby on Thursday, September 2, in the library. PTA members, Darnaby's faculty and staff mingled with parents and students . We all were treated to muffins, fresh fruits, and bagels

  • Dinosaur Eggs Anyone?

    Students at Boevers Elementary, 3433 South 133rd East Avenue, recently enjoyed eating dinosaur eggs for a healthful snack. Pluots, also known as Dinosaur Eggs, are a hybrid fruit which was invented by Floyd Zeiger, a fruit breeder in the late 20th century. It is part plum and part apricot and is grown in Washington and California. It is known for being very sweet and is high in Vitamin A and C.
