Trombone artist and YouTube sensation Christopher Bill will appear for a brief residence at Union Public Schools on Tuesday, March 31. Bill will then perform in a free concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Union Performing Arts Center, 6636 S. Mingo Road. This entertaining and artistic event is free and open to the public.
McAuliffe Celebration of Hope will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the new Global Gardens at McAuliffe Elementary School, 6515 S. Garnett. The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma's Mobile Eatery Food Truck will be on site serving lunch at 12:30pm.
Union Schools Education Foundation Trustees are pleased to announce the hiring of Brandy Flewellen as their new Executive Director.
As executive director, Flewellen will be responsible for the planning, direction, administration, and implementation of comprehensive development programs resulting in financial assistance from USEF to Union Public Schools. Flewellen will also lead the Foundation’s fundraising and public relations efforts while overseeing its financial records.

Congratulations to Darnaby and Moore Elementary schools who earned the Most Improved safety award for the 3rd quarter and Boevers, Alternative Education and Rosa Parks Early Childhood Education Center, who earned the title of Top Performer. The faculty and staff of Darnaby and Alternative Education will be served breakfast by the safety committee on Friday, March 27, while Moore, Rosa Parks ECEC and Boevers will be served on Friday, April 3. Union's Director of Technology, Todd Borland, says seeing people come from across the state in order to collaborate on technology issues is exactly what he had in mind when creating this growing event.
