  • Peters named an Oklahoma Green School

    Peters Elementary School will be recognized at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, as the first Union school to become an Oklahoma Green School – after students developed plans to grow more trees and cut energy costs. In fact, thanks to students, Peters’ electric bill in March dropped $1,400 compared to the same time last year.

  • Our hearts go out to Oklahoma storm victims

    On behalf of Union Public Schools, Superintendent Dr. Cathy Burden and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Kirt Hartzler send heartfelt condolences to the students, parents, and employees of Moore Public Schools and to all of those in the Oklahoma City area affected by Monday’s devastating tornado.  The Union community is stepping up to help through various activities including organized collections of much-needed supplies.  Details and updates are posted at www.unionps.org as well as on Union’s Facebook page and Twitter.  We ask that all Union groups and/or organizations let us know if you are involved in storm victim relief efforts by contacting us at webmaster@unionps.org.

  • Moore, Peters join in collection efforts

    Moore and Peters Elementary Schools are assisting in efforts to help victims affected by the tornados. Moore is collecting clothes while Peters is collecting storage tubs.

  • Union Athletics reaches out to help victims

    Union Athletics is reaching out to the Moore Athletics program to see how Union can help in the wake of the May 20 tornado. See inside.

  • Girls soccer to take up donations tonight

    A table will be set up at 7 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, May 21, at the UMAC to accept donations. The Union girls soccer team will take the donations to a church in the Moore area to help victims of Monday's tornado.

     

     

  • High School taking up donations for victims

    The Union High School Activities Office is collecting supplies this week and next week for Tornado victims. The following items are most needed but any donations (except money) will be taken to Moore.

     • Diapers
     • Individually wrapped snacks
     • Bottled water
     • Gatorade
     • Baby wipes
     • Work gloves
     • Heavy duty trash bags
     • Hand sanitizer
     • Hand towels
     • Sunscreen
     • Batteries
     • Flashlights
     • Baby formula

  • PSAT prep camp registration deadline May 24

    The registration deadline for this summer’s PSAT prep camp is this Friday, May 24. The camp runs June 10-14 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Union High School. It allows students an opportunity to prepare for the PSAT, which is the gateway to the National Merit Scholarship. Registration forms are available in the College and Careers Center, or room 2026, at the High School. If you have questions, contact Sophomore Counselor Donna Castle at 918-357-7259.
